The museum wanted a natural looking path for the
entrance. The effect of a worn path was created
using various blends of texture and color. We
were very pleased to be involved in this project.

Florida Museum of Natural History Entry Project
SFG Floors
It was a pleasure to work with the contractor, designer and curator to create a beautiful floor we can all be proud of.
We utilized several layers to effectively
create the look and feel of a worn path
for the entryway.
Initial repairs were completed and a
base coat was applied to address
damages exposed during removal of the
previous floor covering.
A polymer overlay system was then
employed, using several layers to
create the smooth worn stone path.
A more rough and slate textured finish
was then hand troweled along the sides
to further accentuate the look of a worn
path.
Acid staining began.
We implemented many colors and
techniques to create the final look.
After staining the project is sealed with an
industrial strength urethane.
